Yes you heard that right! It will officially open on 30 Nov, at Suntec City Mall.

If you don’t already know who Gudetama is, you ought too. A rising star in ranks of the Sanrio characters, Gudetama is a lovable lazy egg known for his nonchalant attitude and lack of energy to do anything.

In this new themed cafe, one notable signature design you would notice is how Gudetama appears with a mint leaf, this is a look specially designed for Singapore.

Of the many creatives I worked on this year, this Gudetama Cafe has is one of the most exciting ever.

Simply because I love Gudetama character and his hilarious philosophy of life. You probably would know if you have been following my foodart creations.

To a certain extent I think we all feel like Gudetama at some point.

So (blessed) i was engaged to work with the team on co-creating the menu and food styling for the dishes.

What can you expect?

In this Gudetama cafe started by homegrown brands, Joe & Dough and The Soup Spoon, the all day dining menu features breakfast favorites, signatures, kids’ meals as well as a wide array of cute desserts, cakes and specialty drinks.

Feast your eyes on the menu!

I’m Cold” Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict – Poached eggs with smoked salmon over mashed avocado on brioche toast drizzled with Yuzu hollandaise sauce, served with seasonal greens.

I had so much fun styling this, don’t Gudetama look so cold and a little shy wrapped up in salmon? :p

Rib-“I” Don’t Care (200g) – Chargrilled prime angus ribeye steak topped with creamy wild mushroom sauce, served with mashed potato and garden vegetables.

Gudetama Lobster Onsen – Velvety lobster bisque with poached egg in bread bowl served with seasonal greens.

TA-MA-GO – “Kawaii” sushi cakes made with egg sponge and cheesecake coated with rice pops, served with maple syrup and matcha “

One of my first few menu ideas, super happy that we were able to create this concept together with the pastry chef. A fun sushi concept made dessert style. IMG_5830

Shoyu “Ramen” Set – layers of chestnut Mont Blanc and earl grey jelly, served with a side of panna cotta and sweetened rose tea.

Taking reference from ramen where egg is a popular item, we felt this would be another fun dessert item. Plus Mont Blanc chestnut is such a delicious flavour. IMG_5827
