Homemade Belgium Waffles 自家製ベルギーワッフル

Since its Christmas holidays, I didn’t make bento, instead I made some Belgium waffles! They turned out pretty awesome! yay~~~!!

I served it with some fresh strawberries and also drew a Rilakkuma and Kiioritori drawing using chocolate and strawberry jam. :)

Merry Christmas! ho ho ho~~

Here is the recipe for the Belgium waffles, enjoy!

Ingredients (makes 8 small size Belgium waffles)
150g Bread flour sieved
50g Butter
4g Instant dry yeast
35g Soft brown sugar or just normal white fine sugar
30g Milk
1 Egg
a pinch of salt
a few drops of vanilla essence (optional)
pearl sugar

Method
1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl well using a spatula. As it is rather sticky, it is not possible knead it at this stage. Then use a pair of chopsticks and mix it well in a circular fashion
2. Cover with cling wrap and set aside for 60mins for first fermentation
3. After which, the dough will be kneadable. Remove and divide into 8 equal balls. If you like larger Belgium waffles, you can make 6 of these instead. I liked the mini ones so mine was divided into 8 balls (picture showed 6 cause i was cooking the other 2 :P haha)

4. Cover with cling wrap to prevent drying of the dough. Preheat your waffle maker.
5. Coat your dough with some pearl sugar on both sides.

6. Cook the dough until nicely brown on both sides.

Its really yummy! please try! If you like my Belgium Waffle maker, I think I did see them in Singapore. But it was more ex than the pricing in Japan. I saw it at The Star Vista (located next to Buona Vista) at a store called The Story Begins (located at B1-15 of the mall)
