For today’s bento, I wanted something different and not too cutesy.Â
So I decided to do a seaweed cutting of a calligraphy stroke that depicts the horse and also the year 2014, can you see it? hehe.Â
I hope you like this bento!Â
The horse is made entirely of seaweed cuttings. The base is just rice. Side dishes for the horse bento were sauteed soy ketchup pork slices, french beans, egg, sweet potato, strawberry and some lettuce.Â
As we move forward in this new year, I want to also say a big thank you to my family and husband for being my side always. And also to everyone here for your constant support. I would also like to thank Bento&co for their support and to all the other partners who have supported me this year.Â
I will continue to do my best!

Wow! Love it!!! How do you cut seaweed well and with intricate design?
February 1, 2014
Hi Jennifer Thanks so much! I usually place the illustration I want (on paper) then lay the paper over my seaweed sheet, ‘trace’ and cut the outline. I used an acto cutting knife. :)
