There are 15 days of celebration for Chinese New Year. So here is one for Day 4. haha but probably my last CNY theme creation for this year.Â
Something fun for you – Pineapple Sushi Art Roll. Pineapple in Chinese dialect language has similar sounds to words that mean wealth and good luck, hence often favoured as part of the Chinese New Year symbolism. You will find pineapple cookies, decorations etc. Yup, the Chinese love to play with homonyms (words that share similar sounds/pronounciations)!
Â
Hope you like this Pineapple Sushi Art Roll creation.Â
For this Pineapple Sushi Art Roll, the orange sushi rice is colored by adding ebiko, while the green sushi rice is colored by adding some green furikake (rice toppings).Â
Â
Anyway, I always love to be able to come up with new sushi art roll designs. Sushi art rolls are known as kazarimaki sushi in Japanese.Â
Â
So here is wishing all my blog readers who celebrate Chinese New Year, a wonderful Horse Year to you! :)Â
