Frozen, the animation movie is still so ‘hot’ these days! Popular characters from the Frozen movie include Elsa the Snow Queen and Olaf the snowman. I did a more realistic Frozen bento earlier on with seaweed cutting (post here).Â
Today I made another Frozen Bento, with Elsa the Snow Queen and Olaf the Snowman Bento. This time, it is a more kawaii version. Heh.

Another reason for making this bento is that I am preparing for a workshop to teach the making of Elsa the Snow Queen Bento :)
Â
Elsa the Snow Queen was made from rice, seaweed and thin egg sheet (only whites). While Olaf the Snowman was made from rice, seaweed, carrot, thin egg sheet, quite similar in terms of ingredients. The cute snowflakes are actually hanpen (Japanese white fish cake), I simply punch them out using my snowflake cutters.Â
Â
The side dishes for today’s Frozen Bento were sauteed vegetables, lettuce, dry curry chicken, steamed prawns.Â

Hello Mase san
初めまして。コメントはありがとうございます。I hope I can meet you someday too. The snowflake is actuall hanpen (fish cake). It is very easy. You just need a snowflake cutter (like those use in fondant/gumpaste or cookie cutter types).

Thank you for your reply!!
I looked for a snowflake cutter and I think I’ve got the right one. I will be trying to make Frozen bento shortly. Thanks again!! :)

I am a huge fan, your bento are always amazing. I specially love the kawaii ones. I do bento since about one year and your bento inspire me a lot. Thanks.
I have one question: how do you make the thin sheet of white egg? I tried and it breaks all the time.

Hello Monica
Thank you so much for the sweet comment!! Maybe I should post the egg sheet tutorial soon. Basically two things you must keep in mind. 1. Cook your egg sheet at very low heat to prevent bubbles. 2. For egg white only sheets, it is one of the more difficult ones. I always added about 2/3 teaspoon of potato starch (dissolve in another teaspoon of waterwater) into the egg white mixture before cooking. Hope this helps. Dont give up, trust me, I have failed many times before too.
