It took me 30mins to get out from bed today, despite an early night. Haha, its the Monday blues I think~haha.
Made a Deer Bento today!~
I have wanted to make a deer rice-ball bento but just have not gotten around to doing it earlier on. I posted 2 deer bentos last year, one was made from egg sheet and the other was seaweed cutting.
Several weeks back, I spotted this cute deer figurine which could double up as a chopstick rest and told myself that I have to make a new deer bento soon.
The deer is made almost entirely of rice, with the exception of its eye, nose and hoof which were cut out of seaweed. I do however wish that you could see more of the deer’s body since I made the legs of the deer in this sit down posture.
To colour the rice, I added some teriyaki sauce to make it brown. I prefer teriyaki sauce over soy sauce as it is not as salty and taste nice with rice too. The white part of the head, ears and dots on the body were simply rice.
Today’s bento was packed in my Maru Magewappa from Bento&co.
The side dishes were grilled teriyaki salmon fillet, sauteed broccoli and mushrooms, cherry tomato and lettuce.
Remember the earlier deer bentos I mentioned at the start of my post? Here is my previous deer bentos :)
