[New Store] Tokyu Hands Opens at Westgate (Part 1)

For those who have been following my blog and social media channels, you would probably know that TOKYU HANDS has opened here in Singapore.

What exactly is TOKYU HANDS?  TOKYU HANDS is a lifestyle store from Japan that retails diverse range of products from high-quality and high-functional livingware, made-in-Japan products, convenient travel goods, the latest Japanese stationery, unique articles and popular beauty products.

TOKYU HANDS has always been my must-visit place when I travel to Japan. I am definitely totally awed that it has opened here in Singapore.

I am also excited to share with you that TOKYU HANDS will be opening not just one but two stores in Singapore! The first (already opened) is at Westgate and the second store will be at Orchard Central.

A big thank you for Mr Tsuji san, Manager of International Business Division of TOKYU HANDS for bringing me around the store and introducing the interesting and popular products. Tsuji san shared that the most popular sections of the store in Singapore are the beauty and stationery products. The upcoming store in Orchard will retail similar products as the Jurong East store.

It is easy to locate TOKYU HANDS at Westgate, which is conveniently situated next to Jurong East station. There is a linkway connect directly from the train station to the mall. TOKYU HANDS is located at 1F, near Tim Ho Wan dim sum store. After entering the mall from the train station, keep walking straight, as the mall makes a left curve to the other section, you will see TOKYU HANDS.

TOKYU HANDS in Singapore carry a wide range of beauty products, not just the popular Japanese products but also Korean beauty products too.

The stationery section is also very well stocked, you can find super kawaii Japanese products from cute little sticky notes, to markers, pens, letter sets etc. There are also awesome gift ideas like fake foods magnets, japanese design note pads and Made-in-Japan goods.

Providing the same Ometenashi (Japanese service and hospitality), the staff of TOKYU HANDS were really helpful and welcoming. The store also provides free gift wrapping services!

Being the kitchen and bento fanatic, I immediately headed to the kitchen section. Though smaller than its Japan counterparts, there are pretty interesting products sold there and too bought home several good buys.

The bento section is however very limited – basic color bento boxes, portable chopsticks etc are just about it.

But I did spot many people checking out the bento section – looks like the bento culture is definitely catching up here.
