In case you are wondering, this is not in Japan but in Singapore – this is WAttention Plaza at Jurong Point. Opening in November 2014, WAttention Plaza is an exciting new event place showcasing the best of Japan.
From fully featured stalls to special events and limited booths, get ready for a Japanese experience!
Conveniently located at B1 of Jurong Point , WAttention Plaza itself which is about 50m long, joins Ichiban Boshi restaurant at end and the upcoming Shokutsu 10 on the other end, symbolising the East and West of Japan respectively.
When I visited in Sept after their soft opening, Mr Matsuura san of WAttention Plaza share with me that these stalls are changing, so every month when you visit, there will be different offerings of food, goods and services. There are also thematic fairs at WAttention Plaze for the different seasons and holidays. Thank you Mr Matsuura san for bringing me around.
When you enter WAttention Plaza, you will be greeted with a Japanese style set up (check out those Japanese style rooftop) and stalls on both sides of the linear event space.
There are a total of 8 food stalls and 5 exhibition stalls. There were many items sold, from freshly made bento sets, to karaage chicken, cronuts, oden, onigiri rice balls, Japanese tableware, snacks, Hokkaido rice and much more. When you reach the end, you will be greeted by Shokutsu 10, doesn’t it totally look like Osaka with the giantic lantern and displays? At Shokutsu, there will be a variety of eateries and restaurants of Japanese cuisine. The official opening will also be in November!
