Little Miss Bento

I made a Cute Donut & Choc Bento~

Craving for some ‘sweets’ and comfort food? I think this bento will make you happy :)

Don’t worry, no actual candies/sweets here, just rice shaped into a donut and a chocolate bar character in this bento.

Here is what I used for the bento characters:

Donut – rice with ketchup, slice cheese, seaweed and arare

Chocolate Bar –  rice with teriyaki sauce, seaweed and arare. I wrapped the ‘chocolate bar’ with some aluminum sheet and brown wax paper to mimic the wrapping of an actual chocolate bar :D

*arare is a type of Japanese fried dough

Packed this bento in my aluminium bento boxes.

The side dishes included sauteed chinese chives with carrots and shiitake mushrooms, tamagoyaki (Japanese egg omelette), lettuce and stir fry thin pork slices.

To match the sweets theme, I used my candy related bento picks like the donut ring, choc bar and cream designs, as well as my Pocky Hashi chopsticks and a waffle chopstick stand.
