I made Pooh Bear & Piglet Bento for breakfast!
A fun way to kickstart the day~ Hope my week will be cheery and sunny just like this bento.
Winnie-the-Pooh, also known as Pooh Bear is a teddy character from a storybook created by A. A. Milne. The characters of the Winnie-the-Pooh was later licensed to Disney who continue developing the character via animations and products. When you visit Tokyo Disneyland, there is a section dedicated just for Winnie-the-Pooh.
Pooh Bear has a sweet and friendly personality and is very fond of hunny (honey) and sweet food in general :). Piglet is best friends with Pooh bear and despite being the tiniest one, he tries to be brave in facing challenges and conquests.
Pooh Bear and Piglet are made mainly out of mashed potatoes.
I had to prepare display bentos for my book launch event on Saturday, and had some leftover mashed potatoes and crabstick. I wanted to make something out of the leftovers and decided to make some cute mashed potatoes characters.
To colour the mashed potatoes, I used some Wilton food colouring (those used for icing). Unlike rice, it is harder to colour mashed potatoes with food ingredients, so do take note if you are adverse to food colouring.
Winnie the Pooh / Pooh Bear – mashed potatoes, yellow food colouring, crabstick (red layer), seaweed
Piglet – mashed potatoes, pink & peach food colouring, seaweed
Packed the egg sandwiches and mashed potato characters in a sandwich bento box.
The sandwich bento box is foldable and really convenient as you can just pack it up after finishing the food. I got the bento box from Loft in Shibuya, Tokyo.
