It has been a while since I last made Little Twin Stars Bento~ this time, I used mashed potato to sculpt and make the Kiki and Lala characters.
Making this Little Twin Stars Bento took a little longer than I expected so I ended up being tad rush for work this morning. haha.
This is also a sleeping theme bento~~ can you see Kiki and Lala sleeping so comfortably on the cloud (rice)? I feel like sleeping too!
Actually this is just like how I feel these days. No matter how much Zzz hours I get, I still feel quite tired and sleepy.
The hardest part of sculpting and shaping the mashed sweet potato characters was the hair for Kiki and Lala. I wanted the scallop trim outline of the hair and fringe of Little Twin Stars.
I was quite pleased with the final results of the bento. And like how the clothes look very 3D :)
The cloud that Kiki and Lala are sleeping on is made from rice. I like how the rice gives that fluffy look.
I kept side dishes for this Little Twin Stars Bento quite simple, including sautéed spicy prawns with mushrooms and tofu, blanched broccoli and lettuce.
I also skewered some edamame beans with a star bento pick. The other yellow star cut outs were made from egg sheet.
Today’s bento was packed in my Noda Horo enamel bento box.
