Being someone who enjoys local food and have an Asian taste bud, I was quite thrilled to try out the menu at The Quarters.
The Quarters offers a menu that gives local good and traditional recipes a modern twist. They also have several handmade sauces; many of which are really good.
One item that I really enjoyed (and wanted to try) was the Salted Egg Fries ($8.50). Inspired by the umami nature of salted egg and its widespread popularity, shoe string fries is served with The Quarters’ homemade salted egg aioli dip.
The best part? You can grab a bottle of this yummy salted egg aioli dip.
The Quarters have plans to offered more of their homemade sauces/dips in bottles!
A western take on freshly made rempah from traditional recipe, The Quarters revealed that The Shiok Burger ($16.00) is one of their popular menu items.
Ma Jie’s Indulgence ($18.00) – The Quarters’ own chilli crab sauce concoction with crab meat creates a modern way to enjoy one of Singapore’s most popular dish.
This pasta dish was on my I-need-to-try-this-dish list. Verdict? I would have preferred the dish to have a stronger chilli kick, personally it was a little too sweet for me.
One of the most interesting item on their dessert menu is the Bibik’s Brownie ($9.80). Buah Keluak tempered in an ice-cream base was surprising quite delactable and goes well with the chocolate brownie.
All durian lovers should also give their signature dessert, the Duriancanboleh. You can now also choose to enjoy this durian creme brulee with the pairing of white wine. Almost Heaven ($18.00) pairs the Duriancanboleh with a glass of white wine.
