This is the main character of Sentimental Circus, a character series under San-X Japan.
Most of my friends and acquaintance might recognise this as ‘meh meh’. A soft toy of Shappo I bring around with me all the time. :D
I have no idea why I first got so attracted to this Shappo character when Sentimental Circus series first came out, but I love this bunny character and bought the first plushie for myself. The same one I have been carrying around daily (yes I bring to work too!) haha.
Compared to its counterparts like Rilakkuma and Sumikkogurashi series, Sentimental Cirus is not as well known in Singapore, but to me, equally kawaii and cute.
In San-X’s description of this character series, they are actually a group of abandoned toys who come together as a circus troupe. Shappo is the leader (Master) of the Circus troupe… Awww… makes my heart melt with such a tear jerking story :D http://www.san-x.jp/characters/sentimental.html
Occassionally, San X also launches special editions of Shappo, including Red Riding Hood series, and recently Shappo has even gotten a boyfriend! hahah
Today’s bento is a simple healthy lunchbox.
To make Shappo, I used Japanese rice coloured with some pink furikake and sakura denbu. The features are cut from seaweed.
The sides are yummy mizuna vegetables salad with sauteed prawns and egg!
I hope you like this Shappo Bento, heheh cause I love MEH MEH!
