Doraemon Bento

Doraemon Dorami BentoDoraemon Bento

Recently I had a few people who has asked me to make Doraemon, and most recently a colleague mentioned that she likes Doraemon.

So here it is, a Doraemon Bento. I not only made Doraemon but also Dorami-chan, she is the sister of Doraemon.

Like Doraemon, Dorami chan is also a robot from the future, in fact she often display far more advanced abilities than Doraemon. Yellow in colour, her red ears resembles a huge bow on her head.

To make Doraemon, I coloured the rice using some blue pea flower extract when I cooked the rice.

While Dorami chan is coloured using egg yolk that was mixed in with Japanese rice.

Doraemon Ingredients

  • Japanese rice
  • Blue Japanese rice (rice cooked with blue pea flower extract)
  • Crabstick
  • Seaweed
  • Canned peach

Dorami chan Ingredients

  • Japanese rice
  • Yellow Japanese rice (rice + egg yolk)
  • Blue Japanese rice (rice cooked with blue pea flower extract)
  • Seaweed
  • Crabstick
  • Red sausage

Using super yummy Koshihikari rice (my current favourite!) from Thinkrice.sg.

The side dishes for today’s Doraemon Bento included laksa meatballs, sauteed broccolin with baby corn, lettuce and carrots.

Yes, laksa meat balls! Using Dancing Chef’s laksa paste, I mixed some of it into my minced meat, seasoned it and grilled the meatballs. They smell so good and I can’t wait to try them!

Packed this in my Noda Horo white enamelware bento box, which is now available at Tokyu Hands.
