Korilakkuma Halloween Bento lunch!
I was feeling a little peckish and spotted the super cute Korilakkuma design honey butter biscuit sticks that I bought from the recently opened Japanese grocer, Emporium Shokuhin.
And I thought it will be really cute to depict both Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori in a Halloween Bento.
Every year, San X will also launched Halloween limited edition plush toys of Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori. Check out this year’s designs, very cute right?
This year’s design is pumpkin, which is quite funny. But I didn’t really want to dress them up in Pumpkin, so I made a mini pumpkin using carrot slice, and Korilakkuma with a witch costume.
They are cooking a pot of stews with gruesome ‘eyeballs’. hahah. Did you spot that as well?
I didn’t want to spend too long making this bento. So Kiiroitori, I coloured the rice using some yellow deco furikake.
Here are the rest of the ingredients
Korilakkuma
- Japanese rice
- seaweed + slice cheese (witch hat)
- seaweed + egg sheet (eyes and nose)
Kiiroitori
- Japanese rice + yellow deco furikake
- carrot + seaweed (beak)
- seaweed (eyes, feet)
The side dishes for today’s Korilakkuma Halloween Bento included pan fried chicken mid joints, sauteed sweet peas with broccoli and lettuce.
Did I also mention that the honey butter biscuit sticks were super yummy too? I finished the box so quickly.
I used my round magewappa (bent wood) bento box from Asakusa Magewappa Store.
