Been a while since I joined a Bento Hop with my friends at Bento Blogger & Friends.
Tomorrow is Roald Dahl Day – September is Roald Dahl’s birth month and 13th Sept (his birthday) is the Official Roald Dahl Day. Roald Dahl, a British novelist is well known for his literature works for both adults and children. One of the world’s best selling authors, his children stories are known for their unexpected and sometimes dark humour. His well known works include James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and many more.
To celebrate Roald Dahl Day – I made this Roald Dahl Bento, based on James and the Giant Peach.
To make this seaweed cutting design bento, the technique used is as per my tutorial for Totoro Seaweed Cutting Bento.
I made tiny creatures, the friends of James. Can you spot them?
The little friends are:
- Grasshopper (japanese cucumber)
- Ladybug (red sausage)
- Earthworm (yellow egg sheet and seaweed)
- Centipede (orange egg sheet and seaweed)
- Spider (pasta)
The side dishes for this bento included sauteed kailan vegetables with tofu and carrots, tomato prawns and kiwi fruit.
Today’s bento was packed in my Take Bako box from Bento&co.
For those who came from Kristi’s blog, thank you so much! Please continue on the Bento Hop.
